Circular File
![]() Susta PackageI still think marketing to moms would have been a home run for this vegetable-based, natural sweetener. Connecting a modern health spin to a vintage time would let Mom know she could still indulge her family's sweet tooth but in a smarter way. | ![]() SCHOTT Sidelight Pitch AdIt's some of my favorite agency work—awesome collaborative juices developing a business strategy that turned what the client referred to as a "nice-to-have" product into a need-to-have one. The name, the message, the visuals—all of it helped sell an idea about light being a silent, yet powerful way to communicate, making it essential for modern engineering and design. | ![]() SCHOTT Sidelight Pitch AdEvery product needs a "why"—that thing that catches the target consumer's attention. Our prospective client was sure this product didn't have one, but we figured a really bright (ha ha, pun) angle out. |

![]() Mill Valley PostcardSome clients' industries and personalities lend themselves to cheeky humor. Is it dark? Yes. How about tiptoeing the line of good taste? I can see your point. But is it a stark reality for procurement folks who have jobs—and lives—riding on their decisions? Absolutely and that's why it was worth presenting. | ![]() CNPV Pitch AdThis pitch ad relied heavily on a dual message concept I had. It puts ownership of a global problem on the global populace, and positions the company as an active participant—a member of the collective team—in changing the way the world produces power. | ![]() Cirtec AdMedical device development is full of obstacles that can bring a new idea to an untimely end. So while the ad may not have been the final concept selected, it still showcase some nifty strategic thinking. Plus, who doesn't love Activision references. |
![]() HCPA Promotional Postcard FrontThis postcard for a medical group was meant to promote a new location to area residents. I used the goal to my advantage and went with a double meaning: Not only is treatment close by, but it's as comprehensive, compassionate, and knowledgable as that of a mom with a degree in internal medicine. |
Congratulations! You've found the circular file.
Copywriting is full of ups and downs, and sometimes the work you think is brilliant just doesn't make the cut. Enter the circular file; that special folder where ideas go to die. But because I love them so, I've preserved some of my favorite pieces here for public consumption and/or ridicule. Truth be told, I even had a hand in art directing the designs that go with my concepts.
As always, these pieces represent work I have done with lshd advertising, as well as a few other organizations. If you have any questions about these pieces, or the visual and audio work I've done that actually made it to the light of day, please contact me.
